Yulia Shevkun moved to the United States in 2015 from Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia. She had studied English at the Uzbek State University of World Languages. In 1995, Yulia joined the Eurasia Foundation, one of the first American grantmaking foundations in former Soviet Central Asia. She worked at the foundation for more than eight years. During that time, her career developed from administrative assistant to program officer specializing in public administration development projects.
Prior to joining Second Story in the summer of 2016, Yulia had stayed out of the workforce for more than a decade raising her three beautiful sons. As an organized and motivated “manager of her family,” she’s been practicing the skills of a problem solver who loves to make order out of chaos.
