Get Involved

Second Story is made up of a team of staff, volunteers, donors, and ambassadors. Every person is an important part of our work, and we are so thankful. There are a myriad of ways you can help fulfill our mission either on your own or as part of a group.

Individuals can view and sign up for our volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can work directly with young people or help us behind the scenes by cleaning, organizing, donating professional skills, or providing administrative support.

Community groups from workplaces, churches, or civic organizations can make a big impact together. Consider inviting us to visit your next group meeting to learn more about Second Story and discuss options for getting involved.

Here are some examples of places we visited in the past:

  • Workplace
  • Church or place of worship
  • Civic group or sorority
  • Community event (charity expos, parades, farmers markets, etc.)
  • Gathering of friends (book club, moms club, yoga group, birthday parties, etc.)

Partnering with Second Story can be an impactful experience for a company and employees looking to connect with your local community. Consider inviting us to visit your office or next company meeting and we can share more about getting involved.

We have opportunities for high school through graduate students to get involved with our mission. High schoolers can serve on our Youth Advisory Council or support us to earn Community Service Hours, and college and graduate students are eligible for internships.

Open Door

Open Door Information Tours are opportunities for us to share more about our programs and provide tours of our emergency home for teens. Visitors hear from our staff, learn about issues faced by local youth experiencing homelessness and other crises, and see how our programs are helping to provide urgent support. These are not fundraising events but for informational purposes.

Give

To make a big impact and ensure our programs remain open for all youth and families who need us, consider making a financial contribution today. There are many ways to give. Find an option that works best for you.
