The Ultimate Guide to Table Hosting
Help spread the word about our Beacon of Hope Fundraiser. Becoming a Table Host is a wonderful opportunity to bring friends, family, and colleagues together to support something you are passionate about.
What is a Table Host?
Table Hosts are essential to Second Story’s Beacon of Hope Fundraiser. They have simple but critical responsibilities: 1) Gather ten people (including yourself) to fill your table, 2) register your guests, and 3) follow up with everyone to ensure that they have what they need and show up on October 23!
Get Started
To help you get started, we’ve included some options below.
Use social media
Use social media when reaching out to guests about the event. Repost our content on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram to spread the word and keep people engaged. Sign up for our newsletter, so you can easily forward our correspondence about the event and other relevant news.
Invite guests and confirm registration
Our goal is that each Table Host will have nine guests attend the event to make a table of ten (including yourself). Encourage your guests to sign up. Additionally, you can even register them yourselves through our registration page!
Check in on guests
Email guests one week before the event, and again the day before as reminders and to confirm attendance. Following the event, check in with guests and request feedback.
FAQs
Do I have to pay for my guests to attend the event?
There is no cost to attend this event. Table Hosts do not pay for their guests. Instead, they strive to get all of their guests to attend the event.
Am I asking for money from my friends or family?
No. YOU are not asking for donations. You should make guests aware that the purposes of this event are to educate individuals about Second Story and to raise funds needed to continue our programming. As part of the fundraiser, Second Story will explain the need and invite guests to make a donation. *A donation is not required to attend.
