Youth Advisory Council

Second Story highly values the input of local youth in Fairfax County. Their unique perspective is incredibly powerful to us as we structure our programs and procedures. We have youth members on our Board of Directors and an active Youth Advisory Council.

Second Story’s Youth Advisory Council helps extend the reach of our programs and services, serves as a forum during which members share challenges they and their peers face, and gives input so Second Story can be as effective and responsive as possible to the evolving needs of young people in our community. Youth Council members learn advocacy and leadership skills and attend varied trainings so they feel confident and prepared to use their voices to better educate our community.
