We Made an Impact in Fiscal Year 2023

We invite you to read more about what Second Story CEO Judith Dittman describes as “authentic, real and sometimes heroic efforts to be there for young people when they are in crisis and need help and support” in our Fiscal Year 2023 Annual Report.

Here are some more highlights:

  • 23,833 individuals received assistance during drop-in consultations at our family resource centers.
  • 14,037 food distributions helped nourish our community.
  • 1,445 students received new backpacks to start the school year.
  • 494 teens found a trained, listening ear when they called our crisis hotline.
  • 401 students were helped through our after-school programs and teen center.
  • 255 community members attended health literacy classes and 238 attended financial literacy classes.
  • 236 mothers received counseling, baby equipment, or other supplies and 10 mothers and their 12 children were safely housed.
  • 77 individuals had a safe place to live through Second Story for Homeless Youth.

Your Impact

We make every dollar count. The direct support of young people, their families and their communities, is our first priority. Here are examples of how your donation may be used.

  • Three high school students experiencing homelessness receive a full year of rental assistance and support services so they can remain in school and graduate with their class.

$1,000

  • One teenager receives a safe haven, warm bed, food, and round-the-clock support for five nights at Second Story for Teens in Crisis, or
  • Eight months of therapy for a young woman in the Second Story for Young Mothers program.

$500

  • One teen receives daily counseling during a three-week stay at Second Story for Teens in Crisis, or
  • Twenty counseling sessions for the children and teens who are at-risk and participating in our after-school programs.

$100

  • Three teens receive a therapy session at Second Story for Teens in Crisis, or
  • Two weeks of food for a young mother and her child at Second Story for Young Mothers.
